Hot Peel, Self Weeding, Laser, Heat Transfer Paper
What You Will Need:
1. ImageClip Imaging Paper (RED back print)
2. ImageClip Transfer Paper (GREEN back print)
3. A color laser copier (CLC) or a color laser printer (ink jet or bubble jet printers will not work)
4. A commercial heat press (no hand ironing)
5. A substrate to receive the transferred image (T-shirt, mouse pad, etc.) Be sure to choose garments that have a tight weave. Best results are achieved when using a tight weave 50/50 t-shirt. When using 100% cotton, be sure the label reads "pre-shrunk"
Printing and Application Instructions:
1. Mirror your image using your computer software, or the printer or copier's mirror function.
2. Use the "heavy paper" setting to ensure fusing of the toners
3. Feed the ImageClip Imaging Paper (Red back print) into the copier or printer with the short side first (grain short). Make sure that the image will appear on the front.
Transferring Instructions:
1. After your ImageClip Imaging Sheet (RED back print) has been printed, there is no need to trim the paper. The ImageClip transfer process automatically eliminates the background plastic polymer.
2. Using a commercial heat press, press the ImageClip Imaging Sheet (Red back print) against the ImageClip Transfer Sheet (GREEN back print). Press for 20 seconds at 225 degrees (very temperature sensitive) and peel the papers apart while hot (Hot peel).
3. After completing step 2, use a commercial heat press to begin the process of transferring the image onto the desired garment or other substrate.
4. Preheat the heat press so that the platen is at the correct temperature before transferring your first image. Place the image side down and press it at:
a. Manual heat press: 375 degrees for 15-20 seconds with HEAVY pressure
b. Air Powered Heat Press: 375 degrees for 15-20 seconds, use 60 PSI or Greater, or 400 degrees for 5-10 seconds, use 60 PSI or greater
Important Note: Heat presses vary in accuracy. Conduct your own test to determine the best time and temperature to use with your own equipment.
Storage and Handling of ImageClip
For best results, store ImageClip in a cool, dry area for 12-24 hours before using and do not remove from carton until you are ready to use. After opening the shrink wrapped package of ImageClip, store the paper in the poly bag. This will help improve the quality of your printed image and reduce copier jamming as well.
Washing Instructions
1. Turn Garment inside out and wash in cold water.
2. DO NOT USE BLEACH
3. Remove the garment from the wash immediately and allow to air dry.
4. Use a Teflon sheet or baking parchment to cover the transfer before ironing.
Note: After washing, colors may fade slightly, particularly on 100% cottons. To restore the colors to their original brightness, place a sheet of regular white paper over the image and iron at low cotton setting.
