Graphtec is our newest brand of affordable and amazing vinyl cutters! The Graphtec Silhouette is a powerful and sturdy machine that is still small enough to fit on a desktop. It is so easy to use that almost anyone can use it! The Silhouette is only about sixteen inches long by 5.5 inches deep and 4.5 inches tall - smaller than most inkjet printers - and only weighs 4.5 lbs. Don’t be deceived by its small size. It can handle media up to 11 inches wide by more than 1 yard long, with a cutting area of 8 inches wide by 39.4 inches in extended mode. Plus, it has a built-in optical eye to make any print and cut project incredibly easy!
The Silhouette is portable for easy use anywhere! You can even use it without your computer! That is right...simply design your layout in the included Robo Master Software and save onto an SD memory card (like you would find in a digital camera) which then fits securely in the side of the Silhouette. Take it to a friend's house and leave the computer at home. Once the card is installed, you can scroll through the saved data right on the unit's LCD screen and cut.
Included with the machine is Graphtec's free easy to learn software called RoboMaster. RoboMaster is a very simple and basic program that allows common actions found in more advanced design programs such as creating text, shapes, drawing, and more. You can even design in color for a print and cut application, usually not found in competitor's free softwares. Have a design that is too complex to design in RoboMaster? You can use RoboMaster's insertion tool to import a .jpg image that was designed in another program. Simply insert, setup registration marks, apply a contour cut around your image, and cut! The Silhouette automatically reads the registrations marks so you don't have to. It is even compatible with Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw.
